The Japan Hub for Innovative Global Education (JIGE) is pleased to collaborate with Singapore-based ClassDo, bringing together JIGE's ambitious vision to transform higher education, and ClassDo's innovative platform for creative skilling. Supported by significant funding and endorsement from Japan's Ministry of Education, and already in partnership with 35 universities worldwide, the global alliance will consistently share knowledge and lessons learned in its transformation. This collaboration also serves as a role model for other universities interested in developing similar programs.
JIGE's mission to revolutionise higher education through innovative methodologies like COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) and Virtual Exchange, finds a powerful ally in ClassDo.
This collaboration is set to:
- Streamline Educational Environments: ClassDo's integrated platform will liberate educators from technical busywork, enabling them to devote their full attention to their learners
- Promote Continuous Professional Development: provide re-skilling and up-skilling opportunities for both teaching and non-teaching faculty members in higher educational institutions to integrate new international pedagogies such as COIL and Virtual Exchange for creative skilling
- Expand Global Learning Opportunities: Allow faculty members in higher educational institutions to achieve goals for delivering global learning and cross-cultural experiences to a larger number of students through the newly acquired skills to teach effectively both in-person and remotely.
- Foster Capacity Building: Connect faculty members and students through capacity building opportunities to learn together
This partnership not only makes educational delivery more efficient and cost-effective, but also prepares institutions to handle the complexities of the AI era with creative skilling. Consequently, the JIGE program becomes a benchmark for universities aiming to create programs that foster a globally creative workforce in harmony with rapid AI advancements, rather than following traditional educational approaches that yield a repetitive workforce in competition with AI for jobs.
About JIGE
The Japan Hub for Innovative Global Education, also known as JIGE, is a collaborative educational initiative by three Japanese Universities (Kansai University, Tohoku University, and Chiba University) launched in 2023 with significant funding from Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) under the Inter-University Exchange Project. JIGE aims at revolutionizing higher education and workforce development through innovative virtual, blended mobility, and internship programs.

By eliminating technical complexities, the platform enables educators to focus on engaging learners through participative and personalised learning experiences, fostering the development of a future-ready creative workforce.
